Design Estimator

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Design Estimator to join our client's expanding Design Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic and supportive company in the security and communications sector.
In this role, you will lead the design and estimating process, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance and high-quality service delivery. You will work closely with internal teams, clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design activities and act as a senior design authority within the department
• Review and sign off design outputs, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Mentor and support design staff and trainees
• Continuously improve department processes and standards
• Prepare designs, proposals, drawings, technical submittals, and cost estimates
• Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
• Manage project deadlines and budgets effectively
• Participate in internal and client design meetings
• Undertake ongoing training to enhance knowledge and expertise

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fire and security design role
• Proven experience preparing designs, quotations, and technical proposals
• Knowledge of CDM (2015), PD6662, NCP104, NCP109, BS 8243, BS 60839-11-2, BS 50173-2, Equality Act 2010, Building Regulations, and Secure by Design
• Fire Alarm qualification (FIA, FPA, or equivalent)
• Proficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft software
• Full UK driving licence
