Job Description
Our Castle Donington based client are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. They are preferably looking for someone with Practice experience however this isn't essential.
£45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
25 days holiday + bank holidays.

Senior Accountant - The Role:
- Preparing statutory accounts - this includes incomplete records and computerised books.
- Preparing sole Trade and Partnership accounts
- Maintaining accounts for clients to the required standard
- Preparing self-assessment tax computations
- Preparing corporation tax computations
- Training junior members of staff and being their “go to” for technical and software related queries
- Establishing and building strong client relationships
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Dealing with client queries and liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts.
- General book-keeping on behalf of clients using relevant accounting systems including Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Digita and IRIS)
- Visit client premises to set up and maintain book-keeping records and quarterly VAT returns and provide support to clients.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relations. Ensure a high level of service to meet client expectations.
- Have a solid understanding of accounting and taxation
- Qualified, part qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Experience with cloud software such as SAGE and Xero
- AAT qualification desirable
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to prioritise.
- Building up good working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Working as part of a team as well as independently
- Good commercial awareness
- Being able to understand strategic tax planning
