My client are a longstanding and thriving Leicester based business with an impressive history and a strong reputation in their field. They are seeking an experienced IT Assistant to join their small IT team on a permanent basis.

IT Assistant - The Role:

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the day-to-day IT operations of the business whilst also delivering improvements to the company’s systems, procedures and operations.

Main Duties:
  • Manage First Line Support with respect to hardware and software issues including;
  • - Setup of New PC’s
  • - Set up of printers
  • - Setting up users on Active directory & the ERP system
  • - Setting up and maintaining Exchange, distribution groups & out of office access to mail boxes etc
  • - Setting up and maintaining Mitel Phone System
  • - Maintaining the companies’ Wi-Fi network
  • - Being first point of contact and logging calls with third party support companies
  • To ensure that the support provided is appropriate, timely and meets the requirements of the company
  • Supporting with Day to Day Sage X3 issues such as web order loading
  • Assist in the provision of management information from Sage SQL and Crystal reports
  • Documenting procedures & processes
  • Support the daily operation of the companies IT systems. Including but not limited to;
    • - ERP system (Sage X3)
    • - Carrier Interfaces
    • - ADS Capture
    • - Slim Stock
  • To ensure that these systems are operational and are meeting the requirements of the operational departments
  • Manage the IT departments Ticketing system, Spiceworks
  • Assist in the investigation and completion of the operational departmental requests in relation to;
    • - Departmental operational improvements
    • - Departmental reporting requirements
IT Assistant - The Candidate:
  • Has excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to demonstrate experience of;
    • - SQL
    • - ERP systems
  
  • Possesses a good level of Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
  
  • Has an understanding of IT advancements and threats and how this could impact the company
  • Continues to improve knowledge of the companies IT systems through courses available from Sage and other sources as appropriate
  • Basic accounting knowledge would be an advantage
